Zones of Regulation
We all encounter situations that test our limits. My goal is to help students learn to identify feelings and situations that might cause those feelings. Once students are able to do that, they can use strategies that will help them regulate those feelings in a productive and healthy way. I emphasize that there are no "bad" feelings, and it's normal for humans to experience a wide array of feelings! I use the "Zones of Regulation" to help students learn about self-regulation.

What are the Zones?
We will learn about each of the four zones, situations in which it is normal to be in those zones, how our behavior might affect others when we're in a certain zone, and strategies for returning to the "Green Zone."
Ask your child: "What zone do you think you're in right now? What strategy could you use to get back to the green zone?"
